There’s a fucked-up guy in your life. Your ties are deeper than you’d like. It’s inevitable that the two of you will influence one another, that you will shape each other’s fate. He is what you are most afraid of becoming, yet you cling to hope that you can change him. You must, if only to prove to yourself that you are not like him, are not doomed to become him, even if you can’t stop or reverse every fucked-up thing he gets away with.

Do you already know who he is? Maybe he’s a complete fiction, an artifact of legend and rumor that chills you in some personal way. Maybe he’s an amalgam of uncomfortable perceptions and bad experiences you’ve had. Maybe he’s someone specific, someone who has hurt you more than anyone else in the world.

Looking at The Fucked-Up Guy Looking at You is a short game about the slow influence of long relationships with what you most hate. It is played alone and requires a standard deck of playing cards. It is two pages, or one double-sided page, in printer-friendly black and white. It is an experiment, made for the Fucked Up Guy Jam, and may be subject to future revision.
